The fraser Standard (1986)

Bethel school District vs. Fraser Inapproperiate speech for class president"Innaproperiate behavior" during a speech. Can sensor student that is vulgar or indecent even if it does not cause a material substantial disruption



Hazelwood Standard (1988)

U.S. supreme court significantly reduces the level of first amendment protection provided the most school sponsored student media at public high schools(schools have the right to sensor if they think the message goes against the school rights)

-applies only to school sponsored speech.
